If you have never worked with roof truss manufacturers or metal web joist engineering companies for that matter, you won’t know the process and detail that goes into the design of these important structural items.
Here we explain the process and how ETS helps at every step of the way.
The first point of contact with the ETS team is requesting a quote. People find out about us in various ways; our website, social media, through large building companies who ask us to assist on their bigger projects, repeat business with happy clients and recommendations from people we’ve helped before.
Once the job is booked in by our friendly administration team, they will call or email so you know your enquiry is being dealt with. They will discuss anything ETS may need to know, the details are important and we like to make contact with our customers to fully understand the project. It helps us create a picture of what exactly it is you are looking for.
The next step is to pass the job to one of our talented truss and joist designers to review the architectural drawings and measurements. These are used to produce a bespoke quotation and a design for you. A keen eye is needed for details and expertise as each project is unique and the designer will know what works best based on the complexity of the build and your requirements. They say the devil is in the detail and our designers will consider every eventuality to ensure the design is tailored to best suit your needs. For larger builds, we will also provide an interactive 3D model of the drawing which will allows you to rotate the design and zoom in and out on the detail. This is all easily exported from PAMIR, the design software used by leading roof truss manufacturers and metal web joist engineering companies, which has been developed by our partner MiTek. You don’t need any additional software for this as you can access the drawing from your web browser.
If required, we are happy to arrange a site visit to further measure and adjust quotations accordingly. We love coming to site, it gives us an opportunity to see the build, it’s potential and how our products will enhance it. It can be an important factor in getting the details just right, especially for those trickier and more complex projects. We also often get to meet you, get to know you better and build a relationship with you. One of the key focuses at ETS is client satisfaction, something that can always be enhanced in person.
As soon as you approve the design, we book the job into production. Our truss and joist designers create production drawings for our team operating the saws and press. These are extremely detailed and cover each measurement. The timber is then picked and cut to size. The designs are sent to our laser guided manufacturing set-up and CNC saw facilities, which ensures maximum manufacturing accuracy. This state of the art technology is constantly being updated and we are soon to expand our factory and upgrade our equipment once again ensuring we are at the forefront of precision engineered roofing and floor products.
We will email final site drawings to you, which include layouts and profiles of the trusses or joists and any information that might be required for installation. Eddie, who looks after all our metalwork, will then collect any hangers or fixings that may be required for fitting the joists or trusses. He will also include laminated copies of the installation guide.
Once manufactured and loaded onto our trailers, we deliver. We’d obviously then strongly encourage you to leave a review on your favourite social media or review platform and don’t forget the photos! We love to see images before and after so we can see our trusses or joists in place.
That’s us done, until the next project and the next time you need us!
