Opening Doors for Young Minds: A Visit from Rodenhurst School
Share
Last week, we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming students from Rodenhurst School to ETS for a tour of our site. It was brilliant to see such enthusiasm and curiosity from the pupils as they explored how our team turns designs into real timber roof components.
The students were given a guided tour of the site and shown how different parts of our process come together—from the first enquiry right through to the finished product heading out the door. The students asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully, and handled themselves brilliantly around the busy working environment. We were really impressed!
Visits like this might seem small, but they’re a big deal—for everyone involved. For the students, it’s a chance to see the working world up close, to ask questions and spark ideas about what’s possible for their own futures. And for us, it’s a reminder of how important it is to open our doors, share what we do, and help young people see that there are so many different paths and careers out there.
Rodenhurst School shared their appreciation, saying:
“We are extremely grateful to ETS for allowing us to tour their facility and are excited about collaborating with them on future careers-related activities.”
We’re really proud to be part of the local community, and even prouder to play a role in helping the next generation explore their options. Whether they choose a career in construction or something entirely different, we hope the visit gave them something to think about—and maybe even inspired a few future truss makers or designers!
A huge thank you to the staff and students of Rodenhurst for visiting us—and we’re already looking forward to the next one.
